Wood fa\u00e7ades are for me one of the most beautiful ways to give a building character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I especially like wood when it also looks like wood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sawdust surfaces, different widths, or natural graying can give a building a very calm and high-quality effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wood changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

However, one must be aware of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An untreated wooden facade does not remain the same as it looks on the first day. Sun, rain and weathering change the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wood turns grey \u2013 and that\u2019s completely normal for now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, depending on the orientation of the building, this happens at different speeds. Areas protected remain dark for longer, while more heavily weathered surfaces turn grey more quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone who wants a more uniform finish from the outset can therefore work with pre-coated or corresponding coated surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design is more important than the color<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But when it comes to a wooden facade, I\u2019m not just interested in how it looks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is much more important is how it is built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Water must be able to flow through. The wood must be ventilated. We need sensible details on the sills, windows and roof edges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If that is true, a wooden facade can sometimes get wet. It just needs to be able to dry again afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is exactly what constructive wood protection is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wood facade does not mean a country house<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A wooden facade can look very traditional, but it can also fit well with modern architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vertical, horizontal, open, closed, natural or coated \u2013 there are many options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Especially in renovation projects, a new wooden facade can completely transform a building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, it\u2019s important that the whole thing ends up being calm and that the details aren\u2019t unnecessarily complicated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
