Luxembourg is now a completely natural part of our field of work for us.
With our Hecker Holzbau S.à r.l., we are not only occasionally present at construction sites there, but we also work on our own projects – from residential buildings to extensions and additions, and even special wooden structures.
Many things are the same – some things are not.
We certainly don’t build differently in Luxembourg than in Germany.
A wooden wall remains a wooden wall and a clean connection remains a clean connection.
Nevertheless, processes, approvals, tenders, and, in some cases, the cooperation of the individual parties differ.
The language is also part of it.
At a construction site in Luxembourg, German, Luxembourgish and French are spoken – sometimes all at the same time.
That has become part of everyday life now.

Talk to each other early on
Especially in the case of individually planned buildings, it is important for us to work with architects and engineers as early as possible.
Because sometimes a small change in the planning can save a lot of effort later in the manufacturing or assembly process.
Where do we share an element? How large can we transport it? How do we solve a connection? Can a detail be executed more simply?
These are things in which we are happy to bring our practical experience to bear.

Wood construction fits very well in Luxembourg
Many projects there are architecturally demanding and have high requirements regarding energy efficiency and building envelope.
That's exactly where timber construction has many advantages.
We are very good at soundproofing, prefabricating a lot, and assembling large parts of the building in a short time.
And we’re not limited to traditional wooden houses.
We also build extensions, additions, facades, roof structures and special timber construction projects.
For me, our two locations are therefore not two separate worlds.
We work on both sides of the border – with the same people, the same commitment and the same craftsmanship.
